Abstract Metal Wall Art by Jon Allen

Arrange your Art in Style!

Artwork is a great way to add interest to a room. Here are some expert tips on where and how to hang your art in all areas of your home.

When deciding where to hang your art consider the wall space available. Use small or narrow pieces by windows and doors.  The photograph to the right of Statements2000’s “Rush Hour Blues” Pendulum Clock provides a great example of how to utilize art in a constricted space. It adds a great focal point to an otherwise empty wall.

Families spend much of their time in the kitchen and it is often the heart of the house.  Why not make it visually appealing as well? When hanging art in the kitchen, make sure to place it in an area where it won’t get damaged by water or heat. Consider placing it by the dining table or over an empty space. Don’t shy away from graphic or color, it’s a great way to accentuate an already lively room!

Hanging art in your bedroom adds a nice touch to a personal space. Choose pieces of art you love. For larger pieces, hang them over your bed where you will be able to step back and admire them.  In many cases a large piece of art can be a substitute for a headboard. Smaller works of art can be centered above night stands or dressers. The metal wall sculpture entitled “Bahama Mama” (seen to the left) is a great example of how to center a piece of art above a bed while keeping a peaceful feel which is perfect for the bedroom.

If your home has a staircase, decorating the stairway with art is a wonderful touch. Large multi panel pieces or smaller prints can be hung at eye level for easy viewing. When hanging art on the stairway, stagger it in an upward direction at the same angle as the stairs. Large one panel pieces can be hung on landings.

Accentuating your home with art you love does not have to be hard! Follow our guidelines and you’ll be a pro at arranging your art in no time.  If you like the pieces featured in this post visit our shop at www.statements2000.com you’ll love our entire collection of metal artwork!
